Our IISE Cal Poly SLO Chapter hosts and participates in a wide variety of events throughout the quarter such as info sessions, career fairs, national conferences, professional workshops, facility tours, department socials and events. Read more about our events below!
Our general meetings take place on Thursdays 11:10 AM-12 PM in 192-220.
Throughout the year IISE hosts many info sessions with huge names such as Disney, Deloitte, Lockheed Martin, Boeing, Viasat, etc. These events are free and we welcome all majors to join.
Our club hosted the first annual IME department career fair this year and we look forward to the many years to come! This event takes place in fall but we also have national career fairs for members only all year.
As part of a national organization, our club participates in many IISE regional and national events such as competitions, annual conferences, workshops, and socials. Last March our club participated at the IISE Western Regional Conference and placed Second in the Paper Competition! These events require membership to take part in.
Last year our club began taking paid members on facility tours across San Luis Obispo county. Through this, students get a chance to learn about a real world company, see what they have learned in action, and have fun!
Our club seeks to provide our members with the tools to succeed in college and in their life afterwards. Our professional workshops give students the professional skills necessary to do so such as career center guidance, resume and LinkedIn lessons. These events are free for all interested, regardless of major!
The IME department at our university is one unlike any other. Our club plans many socials and events in order to introduce you to this community and form lifelong friendships. Within the club, we have many socials like barbecues, ice cream socials, happy hours where all are welcome! Our board also plans the annual IME department banquet at the end of the year which includes dozens of company representatives and celebrates the entire department.
